How to Clean and Maintain Luxury Leather Bags

Most women who own luxury leather bags use them only on special occasions, then leaving their bags in storage for most of its life. So, whether our leather handbags are super expensive or less or whether we use them occasionally or daily, there is need to store leather handbags, properly.

A handbag is stored, purposely, to let it air for a couple of hours and, soon after, filly it with loose balls of crumpled acid-free tissue paper, just enough to hold the shape of the handbag. If the handbag comes with a dust cover, place the bag in it and store in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight. If you don't have a dust cover, you can either buy one or put the bag in a box, but not an airtight box as this will eliminate moisture in the air and result into a dry, cracked bag. Better to leave the lid of the box open so the handbag can breathe. For storing in prolonged period of time, use a leather conditioner to help protect the handbag from drying, but be extra careful with the choice of the conditioner, as some handbags are designed for a specific leather conditioner. Remove any excess conditioner before storing the handbag.

Preventing your leather handbag from spillage or stain is one way of caring for your bags. By designating a place in your home for your designer bags, this will help prevent getting stains, instead of leaving them in places, like the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, or living room. Also, check the items in your bag which are uncapped, which can produce spillage inside, or which are pointed or sharp, which can cut or scrape the inside part of the bag.

Many expensive, luxury brand leather handbags are not water resistant, so they should be kept out of the rain or away from a nearby watery place. Even our hands must be clean from traces of cosmetics or must be dry whenever we handle our leather chanel bags. We should also be conscious of the kind of clothes we wear when we're holding our leather handbag, because the texture material of some clothes can be abrasive to leather handbags, which may rubbed off on the bag, causing scratches or scuffing on the leather surface. Be conscious of holding the bag away from a coarse type of clothing.

Clean your leather handbags at least once a month. To clean, use baby wipes and not a wet cloth, which are alcohol-free, free of perfume scent, and have a neutral pH. With these baby wipes, lightly wipe the dirt from the bag. Never scrub while wiping. And with respect to the bag's interior, remove the dust and other particles by using a gentle vacuum cleaner or use a feather duster to remove the residue. Don't forget the metal accessories of your bag, which should be cleaned using a soft brush and dried with a soft cloth.  Know more about women’s bag in http://www.huffingtonpost.com/meredith-barnett/handbag-designer-judith-l_b_866950.html.
